Imagine being surrounded by mountains on all sides with not a single house, road or any form of civilization within site or sound. That is what the ranch is like. Now imagine taking that a step further by getting on horses, packing up into the mountains and enjoying a lunchtime break next to a little stream in the middle of wildflowers. The final destination is a tent camp that is tucked into the side of a little valley. It was beyond beautiful. For me personally, it doesn’t get much better than sitting around a campfire with nothing but the sound of the fire crackling. The next day we rode back, had dinner and enjoyed a much deserved shower. On my final day, we rode our horses to a breakfast camp under some trees and then had a little cattle drive back to the ranch. After practicing some team penning with some stubborn cows, it was unfortunately time for me to go. I missed the white water rafting that was going on the days before I arrived but the other guests said that they really enjoyed it. You really can’t go wrong if you choose Twin Peaks for a vacation. - Tell 'em Dusty Dave sent ya! |
