| North Fork Guest Ranch / Shawnee, Colorado / 800-843-7895 www.northforkranch.com / northforkranch@worldnet.att.net I have visited quite a few ranches and I would just like to start by saying that I was very impressed with every aspect of North Fork. One of the first things that I noticed was how well the buildings were organized in relation to each other. It was very easy and convenient to be involved in any activity at any moment. The location of the ranch, right on the river, is also a very nice aspect. You can enjoy the river by simply sitting on the porch with a cocktail and watching it or you can jump right in and do a little fly-fishing. Besides the fantastic horseback riding, they also offered white water rafting, archery, shooting, hiking, swimming, a hay ride and campfire with cowboy musician, champagne brunch ride and the ever popular/needed massage. I never felt rushed with the schedule and the staff was always there to ask if I needed anything. The food at the ranch was more than just a meal, it was something that everyone looked forward to. They did an amazing job with the menu and I had to be rolled out of the dining room at least once a day. One last thing that really made the ranch experience special was that each morning the horses would run from the pasture down a narrow dirt road right in front of the main lodge and cabins. It was a truly beautiful sight. The ranch owners really know what they are doing and I would not hesitate for a second in recommending the North Fork. - Tell 'em Dusty Dave sent ya! |
