From the moment we pulled in the staff was friendly and helpful. It did not take long before we felt at home and knew the names of all eight resident cats. We stayed in the Lone Star cabin, a small but clean, new, and well-appointed log cabin with a covered porch, complete with a porch swing that we used every night. The kitchen has everything you need for simple cooking and snacks, but with the grub that Miss Jane whips up, I can not imagine wanting to cook myself. Her homemade biscuits and gravy alone made the stay worthwhile. We did three horseback rides, a one, two and three-hour ride, culminating with the three-hour ride to a local pub for pizza and beer.
