We all feel a little sad and guilty looking at our pets as we walk out the door for a vacation. That pitiful look of hopelessness and uncertainty in their eyes waiting for you to say, "Come on, let's go!" It's an awful time that we all suffer through. As if the fact of not being able to bring your pet along wasn't bad enough by itself, once you take off, you then have the terrible trauma of worrying constantly if they will have enough food, water, bathroom breaks, etc. to make it comfortably through the weekend. Just think of all the anxiety issues you could solve by simply taking your pet with you. Luckily, there are some really neat places that allow pets and thus allow the both of you to have a wonderful vacation - together. From dude ranches to high country cabins to full-on doggy resorts, you will be guaranteed to have a fabulously fun time together. |
Howdy! Listed below are a few very nice places that I have picked out for your convenience. You are free to share all the information and photos in this press release with your readers. Just click on any image for a high-res version. Have a great day & Giddy-Up! Dusty Dave |

| Colorado
Cattle Company Head on out to Colorado and become a real cowboy for a week on a working cattle ranch. Not just another dude ranch, this is the place you have been searching for! Saddle up and ride horseback while gathering cattle off the range, doctoring sicks, driving cattle, branding calves, or whatever cattle activity needs to get done while you are there. Their string of top notch ranch horses are available for you to ride all day, every day. This ranch is not a resort, not a dude ranch, not a guest ranch, but a real cattle ranch in full operation. Is it rustic? You bet! They also welcome well behaved pets. |
Dogbark
Park Inn Cottonwood, Idaho Dog Bark Park Inn is a bed & breakfast guesthouse inside the World's Biggest Beagle. Guests enter the body of the beagle from a private second story deck. Some of the dog's decorative furnishings are carvings by Dog Bark Park chainsaw artists Dennis and Frances. Inside and up another level to the head of the dog is a loft room with additional sleeping space plus a cozy alcove in the muzzle. You are invited to bring your dog along to share in the ultimate doginess experience. Located in the heart of the Camas Prairie where wheat, barley, canola, blue grass and hay are the dominant crops, there's plenty of room for long walks. |
Lajitas Imagine a place where the Comanche Indians once roamed, Pancho Villa led raids across the Rio Grande, cowboys sat around an open campfire, and miners drank whisky at the Trading Post; all among the dramatic mountain vistas and majesty of one of the most beautiful rivers in the world. Tucked between Big Bend National Park and Big Bend State Park lies this exquisite, 25,000-acre private estate where a cast of infamous characters made history and the Old West is now the first destination resort in Texas. Doesn't this sound fun? Don't forget to bring your spurs, a can of chew and your favorite sidekick, your pet! |
Camp
Dogwood Ingleside, Illinois The ultimate in dog-friendly resorts. All overnight camp packages include your selected lodging (dogs sleep with you), meals and snacks (dogs bring own chow), and all standard programming. The new lodge provides single and double occupancy as well as shared housing accommodations. The beautiful new lodge has a large stone fireplace in the common area, a kitchen, and showers and bathroom facilities on-premises. Usually the first to fill-up, the new lodge, is a popular accommodation. Your dog will have the time of their life playing in the pond and jumping off the pier until they are utterly exhausted. That's what it's all about it! |

Dunton
Hot Springs Dolores, Colorado Dunton Hot Springs is the only thing that passes for a town for an hour and a half’s drive in any direction. This pleasing remoteness, twenty-two miles up an ascending dirt road lined with aspen groves and Ponderosa pine above three-hundred foot drops to the West Fork of the Dolores River, reveals to the intrepid a nineteenth century miners’ retreat of hand-hewn logs in a rolling meadow at the headwaters of a river basin that falls away to the Four Corners, where Colorado, Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico intersect in a red desert. Enjoy hot springs, massages, leisurely strolls, sentimental indulgence, and conversation about the lore of the place that such activities inspire. It's a great place for a vacation and a great place to bring your pet. |
Rye
Creek Lodge Rye Creek Lodge is located at the southern end of the scenic Bitterroot Valley in western Montana. Rye Creek meanders through 120 acres, providing over a mile of riparian area for moose, elk and deer. Several ponds make the Lodge an oasis in the "high country" of Montana. Granite outcroppings, large ponderosa and numerous aspen provide close-up views while Trapper Peak looms overhead. National forest and the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness area are nearby. All cabins are new and made of hand-hewn logs with a natural river rock fireplace. Just 65 miles south of Missoula and 5 miles south of Darby, you can take day trips into town to do a little antiquing or to stock up on dog food for your furry friend. |
Cabins
at Seven Foxes The Cabins at Seven Foxes is a charming mountain retreat nestled high in the Blue Ridge Mountains offering cool relaxing breezes, fun outdoor activities and a chance to reconnect with friends and family. As you stroll past the hemlocks and rhododendrons and pass the neighboring meadow with miniature horses and goats, you will find five cabins tucked in the woods, each with their own character. Whether you choose to read a book, walk on the nature trails with your pet, stroll by the perennial gardens, have a picnic or just relax, you will become part of the mountains. There are over 250 waterfalls in the area and plenty of hiking in the Pisgah National Forest, Gorges State Park, and Dupont State Forest.
