So what's all the allure of staying in a tent as opposed to a cabin? For starters it's just way more adventurous, outdoorsy and fun! Sure, cabins are great, but with a tent you're actually sleeping outside. It's that one step closer to nature that makes it so much more special. One of the big hassles of camping is having to put up and take down the tent. Luckily, all of the yurts, tents and teepees in this story are already set up and good to go. You just show up and enjoy the outdoor experience. What is a yurt anyhow? Yurts are big, round tents with some nice creature comforts. They originated in Mongolia and somehow made their way over here to the states. They are fairly sturdy and somewhat permanent, so if you are a novice at tenting, you may want to start off with a yurt because they are the closest thing to a cabin you will find. Teepees can also be a lot of fun. Our Indian brothers lived in teepees for generations and they served them well. Plus, you will feel like you are taking an osmosis-style history lesson just by sleeping in one. Another great wilderness experience is to go on a pack-trip via horse and mule from one tent camp to another. This is especially exciting because you get to see all kinds of different animals and natural wonders without a 30 pound backpack weighing you down. Whether you choose a tent, teepee or yurt, you will have a guaranteed good time. |
Howdy! Listed below are a few very nice places that I have picked out for your convenience. You are free to share all the information and photos in this press release with your readers. Just click on any image for a high-res version. Have a great day & Giddy-Up! Dusty Dave |

on Horseback Exploring Banff National park on horseback is a trip of a lifetime. This seasoned outfitter will pack all your gear (sleeping bag and personal items) on mules which travel ahead of your horse and guide so when you arrive at your tent camp, everything is there waiting for you. The tents are already set up, you just throw your stuff in the tent and then head over to the main mess tent for dinner. After dinner, you can enjoy a cocktail around the campfire before dozing off to sleep. The next day, you get on your horse again and head off to the next tent camp and continue the process for up to a week if you so choose. The scenery is unmatched and the serenity is a much needed calming respite from our hectic lives. |
