"D.L. Bliss State Park","Camp sites. In winter the area is perfect for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. There are 168 developed campsites at the park. Interpretive programs offer visitor activities during the summer. Note that the parking lot is small and generally full by 10 a.m. in the summer; if you end up parking on the highway, it's a two-mile walk to the beach and a mile to the Rubicon trailhead."
"Death Valley National Park ","Camp sites. There are more than 1,500 campsites in the 3.4-million-acre park. Some campgrounds are in the desert, with planted shade trees and drinking water available. Backcountry Camping: Free voluntary permits for backcountry camping may be obtained at the visitor center or any ranger station. Solo hikers can fill out a Backcountry Hiking Form to provide detailed information in case a search is requested by a family member or friend. "National Park Service - Public Cabins","Nugget Creek Cabin is 15 feet by 19 feet in size and contains a woodstove and four bunks. This cabin is on the north side of Nugget Creek at about 3,000' elevation. It can be reached using a 13-mile trail suitable for ATV, foot, horse, or mountain bike or by small airplane at a short airstrip approximately 200 yards from the cabin. Jake's Bar Cabins 1 and 2 are located together. One cabin is 9 feet by 13 feet and contains a woodstove and two bunks; the second cabin is 6 feet by 9 feet in size and contains a woodstove and two bunks. These cabins are located on the north shore of the Chitina River about 15 miles south of McCarthy at about 1,000' elevation. There is no summer hiking trail to Jake's Bar: all access is by aircraft. Chelle Lake Cabin is 24 feet by 36 feet in size and contains a woodstove and four bunks. This cabin is located on the shore of Chelle Lake on the west slope of Mt. Drum at an elevation of about 3,200' and is accessed by aircraft. Too Much Johnson Cabin is 11 feet by 15 feet in size and contains a woodstove and two bunks. The cabin is located in the historic mining settlement of Chisana. The cabin is accessed by aircraft and provides an opportunity for extended treks along the Chisana River or to the Gold Hill historic mining district, situated ten miles to the northeast. Hubert's Landing Cabin is 15 feet by 16 feet in size and contains a woodstove and two bunks. This cabin is located on a gravel bar at the east end of the Chitina River Valley, accessed by airstrip. Peavine Cabins are 20 feet by 24 feet in size and contain woodstoves and bunks. The 2 cabins are situated 14 miles east of McCarthy, on a gravel bar of the Chitistone River surrounded by towering cliffs. It is usually accessed by air, as it offers only limited opportunities for hiking. "
